TriVascular’s bid for IPR rehearing denied

February 9, 2015 –  The USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) denied Trivascular, Inc.’s bid to for a rehearing of the PTAB’s determination in an Inter Partes Review that U.S. Patent No. 6,007,575, entitled “Inflatable intraluminal stent and method for affixing same within the human body,” to Shaun L. W. Samuels, was not obvious.   The Board denied the petitioner’s request for rehearing and rejected the arguments that the Board had applied an incorrect claim interpretation and misapprehended the state of the prior art in its final decision. The case is a Petition for Inter Partes Review by TriVascular, Inc., IPR2013-00493 (PTAB).
