Baxter settles with Johnson & Johnson over tissue sealing patents

April 2, 2015 – Baxter International and Johnson & Johnson settled their patent infringement dispute over technology that reduces tissue adhesion during surgery.  Baxter’s suit alleged that Johnson & Johnson’s SurgiFlo® product infringed six of Baxter’s patents―U.S. Patent Nos. 6,063,061, 6,066,325, 8,303,981, 8,357,378, 8,512,729 and 8,603,511, entitled “Fragmented polymeric compositions and methods for their use.”  The case is captioned Baxter Int’l, Inc. et al. v. Johnson & Johnson, Inc. et al., 14-cv-00498, in the Northern District of Illinois.
