Stone Basket Innovations files patent infringement complaint against Cook Medical over endoscopic stone extraction devices

April 9, 2015 – Stone Basket Innovations LLC filed a complaint for patent infringement against Cook Medical LLC on April 8, 2015 in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas (Marshall Division).  The lawsuit relates to Cook Medical’s allegedly infringing endoscopic stone extraction device “Cook Medical NCompass Nitinol Stone Extractor,” which is an extractor used for stone manipulation and removal in the urinary tract.  The patent at issue is Stone Basket’s U.S. Patent No. 6,551,327, entitled: “Endoscopic Stone Extraction Device With Improved Basket.”  The complaint has been given Civil Action No. 2:15-cv-00464, with United States District Court Judge Rodney Gilstrap presiding.
