On April 15, 2015, Petitioner, Anatomage, Inc. (“Anatomage”), filed a Petition to the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board (“Board”) for inter partes review of claims 1-10 of U.S. Patent No. 6,319,006 (“the ‘006 Patent”) drawn to a method for producing a drill assistance device for a tooth implant. The ‘006 Patent, which issued on November 20, 2001, is owned by Sirona Dental Systems GmbH. In the Petition, Anatomage asserts eight grounds of invalidity of claims 1-10 of the ‘006 Patent that include various invalidity contentions under 35 U.S.C. §§ 102 and 103 over several prior art documents that include U.S. Patents, a German Patent, and non-patent literature documents. The inter partes review remains pending at the Board and is captioned IPR2015-01057.
