LifeCell wins preliminary injunction in trade secret dispute

May 21, 2015 – LifeCell Corp. was granted a preliminary injunction that prohibits Tela Bio, Inc. from selling its hernia mesh product, TelaMax.  The court granted LifeCell’s request, holding LifeCell offered clear and convincing evidence that it has a likelihood of success on the merits showing Tela Bio, which was founded by LifeCell’s former R&D director, willfully misappropriated trade secret and proprietary information to develop a hernia repair product that is being introduced to replace an existing LifeCell product.  The case is captioned LifeCell Corp. v. Tela Bio, Inc., Anthony Koblish, and Maarten Persenaire and is pending before the Superior Court of New Jersey, SOM-C-12013-15.
