August 20, 2015 – On August 19, 2015, Polyzen, Inc. (“Polyzen”) filed a complaint against Dielectrics, Inc. (“Dielectrics”) asserting infringement of U.S. Patent Nos. 7,976,497 (“the ’497 Patent”) and 8,740,845 (“the ’845 Patent”) in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Polyzen is the sole assignee of the ’497 Patent and the ’845 Patent. Both patents are directed to a method for fabricating medical balloons used in gastrointestinal, vascular, reproductive system, urinary system and pulmonary procedures. Polyzen asserts that Dielectrics is infringing the asserted patents by manufacturing, using, offering for sale, and selling multi-layer film welded medical balloons identified as Immobilizer Treatment Device rectal balloons, Immobilizer, ImmobiLoc, IPSI and/or Alatus Balloon as well as other like products. The case remains pending and is docketed as Case No. 3:15-cv-13200 before Judge Mark G. Mastroianni.
