Femto-Sec Tech files patent infringement complaint against Alcon Laboratories over medical laser technology

September 28, 2015 – Femto-Sec Tech, Inc. filed a complaint for patent infringement against Alcon Laboratories, Inc. and WaveLight, GmbH on September 25, 2015 in the United States District Court for the Central District of California (Southern Division).  The lawsuit relates to Alcon Laboratory and WaveLight’s allegedly infringing WaveLight FS200 laser system, which uses focused laser pulses to create incisions in the cornea of the eye in connection with eye surgery.  The patent at issue is U.S. Patent No. 5,720,894, entitled: “Ultrashort Pulse High Repetition Rate Laser System For Biological Tissue Processing.”  The complaint has been given Civil Action No. 8:15-cv-01551 (C.D. Cal.).
