Alps South, LLC asks Supreme Court to Review Standing in Prosthetic IP Row

November 11, 2015 – Alps South, LLC, filed a petition for a writ of certiorari in the United States Supreme Court, on October 29, 2015, asking the court to overturn a Federal Circuit decision dismissing Alps South, LLC patent infringement suit against The Ohio Willow Wood Company for lack of standing. The patent at issue is U.S. Patent No. 6,552,109, entitled “Gelatinous elastomer compositions and articles.” The ’109 patent covers liners that are used as cushioning between the residual limb and a prosthetic limb.

The Ohio Willow Wood Company’s response is due on December 2, 2015. The petition has been filed in the United States Supreme Court and is captioned: Alps South, LLC v. The Ohio Willow Wood Company, No. 15-567.
