January 26, 2016 – On January 22, 2016, a Massachusetts jury awarded Exergen Corp. $14.6 million in lost profits and other compensation in an infringement dispute against KAZ USA Inc. over patents relating to forehead thermometer technology. The patents-at-issue were U.S. Patent Nos. 6,292,685 and 7,787,923, both titled “Temporal Artery Temperature Detector.” The case is captioned Exergen Corp. v. KAZ USA Inc., 13-cv-10628.
