Complaint Filed by SonoSim, Inc. against MedaPhor Ltd. for Ultrasound Training System Patent

April 26, 2016 – Plaintiff SonoSim, Inc. (“SonoSim”) filed a complaint against MedaPhor Ltd. (“MedaPhor”), asserting infringement of U.S. Patent No. 8,480,404 in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. SonoSim asserts that it is the owner of all rights and interests related to the asserted patent, entitled “Multimodal Ultrasound Training System.” The patent at issue is directed to medical procedure training system for simulating ultrasound imaging and ultrasound-guided medical procedures. According to the Complaint, the action arises from MedaPhor’s importing into the United States, and offering to sell and selling, as well as inducing the infringing acts of others in the United States with its ScanTutor video and package. The case remains pending and is captioned, SonoSim, Inc. v. MedaPhor Ltd., 2-16-cv-024847 (C.D. Cal. 2016).
