May 16, 2016 – On May 12, 2016, Magistrate Judge Payne granted Repro-Med Systems, Inc.’s motion to stay pending IPR because the potential simplification of issues weighed in favor of a stay. The patent at issue is U.S. Patent No. 8,961,476, entitled “Sharps Protector Device for Protecting a User from a Sharp Tip of a Medical Needle.”
The case is captioned EMED Technologies Corporation v. Repro-Med Systems, Inc. (d/b/a RMS Medical Products), Case No. 2:15-cv-1167 (E.D. Tex.).
