Federal Circuit Finds that PTAB Erred in Determining Zoll Medical Corp. Patent Claims were Valid

August 1, 2016 – On July 29, 2016, the Federal Circuit ruled that the Patent Trial and Appeal Board incorrectly upheld a number of claims of a patent on a wearable medical device. The patent-at-issue is U.S. Patent No. 6,681,003, entitled Data Collection and System Management for Patient-Worn Medical Devices.

The case is captioned Respironics, Inc. v. Zoll Medical Corp., Case No. 15-1485.
