August 12, 2016 – Defendant C.R. Bard (“Bard”) and Plaintiff W.L. Gore & Associates (“Gore”) filed letters with the court regarding sanctions in a pending patent infringement case. In Bard’s letter, written in response to Gore’s letter of August 5, Bard argued that Gore’s requests for sanctions were baseless, and severe enough to have ruined careers. Gore responded the same day, arguing that the sanctions were filed in complete good faith. The patent-at-issue is Gore’s U.S. Patent No. 5,735,892 titled “Intraluminal Stent Graft.” The case is numbered 1:11-cv-00515 before the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
