KCI Licensing Files Patent Infringement Complaint Against Smith & Nephew

October 11, 2016 – Plaintiffs KCI Licensing, Inc., KCI Medical Resources Unlimited Company, Medical Holdings Limited, KCI Manufacturing, Inc., KCI Imports, Inc., and KCI USA, Inc. filed a complaint alleging patent infringement by Defendants Smith & Nephew, Inc., Smith & Nephew Holdings, Inc., and Smith & Nephew PLC.  The patents-at-issue are U.S. Patent Nos. 7,004,915 (“Negative pressure assisted tissue treatment system”), 8,758,315 (“Multi-orientation canister for use with a reduced pressure treatment system”), 7,108,683 (“Wound therapy and tissue management system and method with fluid differentiation”), and 8,795,244 (“Super-absorbent, reduced-pressure wound dressings and systems”). The case was filed in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, and is number 1-16-cv-00912.
