Oct. 24, 2016 – In a Final Written Decision, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board determined that Petitioner Anatomage, Inc. had failed to show by a preponderance of the evidence that the challenged claims of Patent Owner Sirona Dental Systems GmbH’s patent were unpatentable. The patent-at-issue is U.S. Patent No. 6,319,006, entitled “Method for Producing a Drill Assistance Device for a Tooth Implant.” The claims were found not unpatentable under theories of inherent anticipation and obviousness. The case is IPR2015-01057, before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
