January 24, 2017 – The United States District Court for the Northern District of California entered judgment pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 54(b) as to the invalidity of Perfect Surgical Techniques, Inc.’s patent, U.S. Patent No. 6,030,384. The patent is titled “Bipolar surgical instruments having focused electrical fields.” The Court found the December 16, 2013 Order granting Defendant Gyrus Medical, Inc.’s motion for summary judgment as to the invalidity of the patent to be “a decision upon a cognizable claim for relief” which is “final,” and found no reason for delay. The case is 12-cv-5967-PJH.
