10X Genomics files an Infringement Complaint against Bio-Rad Laboratories

January 10, 2018 – 10X Genomics, Inc. filed an infringement complaint against Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. on January 9, 2018. 10X Genomics contends that Bio-Rad infringed 10X Genomic’s patents as a result of Bio-Rad’s offers to sell and  sale of Bio-Rad’s Single-Cell Sequencing Solution  and ddSEQ™ Cartridges, Bio-Rad’s ddSEQ™ Single-Cell Isolator, Bio-Rad’s ddSEQ™ Cartridge Holder, and other components used with Bio-Rad’s Single-Cell Sequencing Solution.

The patents at issue are 9,644,204, entitled “Partitioning and Processing of Analytes and Other Species,” 9,689,024 and 9,695,468 entitled “Methods for Droplet-Based Sample Preparation,” and 9,856,530, entitled “Methods and Systems for Processing Polynucleotides.” The case is captioned 10X Genomics, Inc. v. Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc., 3-18-cv-00209, and was filed in the Northern District of California.
